Meet the Gators: Townsen Thomas
Tuesday, January 28, 2025 | Softball
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – We are down to single digits (9 days) until our season-opener at home vs. North Florida on Feb. 6. Townsen Thomas is up next as our eighth newcomer in our Meet the Gators series.
Thomas is a freshman outfielder from Humble, Texas, who will wear No. 44 for the Orange & Blue. She is one of two Texans on the team, including sophomore Ava Brown (Montgomery).
Ranked as the No. 1 outfield commit in the Class of 2024 by Extra Inning Softball, Thomas was a two-sport athlete at Episcopal High School, where she was part of both the softball and basketball teams.
On the travel ball circuit, she played for Texas Bombers Gold 18U and was both a 2024 Alliance Fastpitch All-Star and the Alliance Fastpitch Championship Most Outstanding Player.
Thomas also arrived in Gainesville with international playing experience. She helped Team USA to a first-place finish at the U-18 World Cup Group C this past September in Dallas.
She led Team USA in hits, going 13-for-19 (.684) at the plate over six games to help the Red, White & Blue to a perfect 6-0 record.
Thomas is currently majoring in applied physiology & kinesiology. Her goals after college are to help others live healthy lifestyles through fitness and nutrition.
