GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The No. 2 Florida softball team continued its dominance on the second day of the Bubly Invitational, shutting out Providence, 5-0, before run-ruling No. 14 Duke, 9-0, in five innings.
With the two victories, the Gators move to 11-0.
Sophomore pitchers Olivia Miller and Keagan Rothrock dominated in the circle, both throwing complete-game shutouts and allowing just a combined five hits in 12 innings with 11 strikeouts.
Rothrock (5-0) has not allowed an earned run this season in 24.2 innings pitched.
Freshman Taylor Shumaker had another standout performance at the dish on the day, hitting a team-best .833 (5-for-6) with three doubles, seven RBI, seven runs and her eighth home run.
She has already amassed 23 RBI in 31 at-bats through 11 games.
Notables:
The Gators face Boston College and Binghamton in a doubleheader on Saturday starting at 11:30 a.m.

- With her opposite field home run against Duke, Shumaker moved into a tie for eighth-most home runs hit by a Florida freshman in program history
- Shumaker has eight multi-RBI games this season, a team-best
- Rothrock recorded her 50th career start against the Blue Devils. She now holds a 38-9 career record with 32 complete games and nine shutouts
- Kendra Falby extended her hitting streak to 10 games, tallying one hit against the Friars and going 2-for-3 against Duke
- Freshman Layla Lamar recorder her first career base hit against Providence
