
No. 3 Gators Drop Doubleheader To No. 2 Texas

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The No. 3 Florida softball team dropped its doubleheader to No. 2 Texas on Saturday afternoon at Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium.
The Longhorns took game one, 7-2, before coming-from-behind to take game two, 13-7, to clinch the series victory.
With the two losses, the Gators drop to 27-4 on the season, with a 2-3 record in Southeastern Conference play.
Senior Kendra Falby led the Gators with three hits on the day, going 3-for-8 at the dish and plating a team-best three runs.
Falby extended her on-base streak to 31 games, the longest on-base streak for a Gator since Hannah Adams in 2022 (35 games), and her hitting streak to 17.
Junior Jocelyn Erickson drove in three runs, all off a bases-clearing double in game two.
Florida struggled in the circle, giving up a combined four home runs and allowing 18 earned runs and 12 free bases – nine walks and three hit by pitches – with four pitchers on the day.
Defensively, the Gators committed four errors, three in game one, the most in a single game this season.
