Three Gymnasts Graduate this Weekend

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Florida gymnastics see three – Sloane Blakely, Morgan Hurd and Leanne Wong – become Gator graduates in this weekend's University of Florida commencement ceremonies.
Blakely and Wong graduate with honors Thursday afternoon in the Stephen C. O'Connell Center, the same arena they posted 10.0 routines during the 2025 season. Hurd receives her English degree with honors Saturday morning.
In addition, two others complete work toward a graduate certificate – Brianna Edwards and Ellie Lazzari.

Gator Grad Notes:
- Blakely earned All-America honors at the 2023 NCAA Championships and earlier that season, won the Southeastern Conference vault title. As a freshman, she earned a 10.0 in floor exercise and found perfection again in the 2025 Gators Link to Pink meet. Earned 2024 Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Association (WCGA) Scholastic All-America honors and is a cum laude UF graduate this spring.
- Edwards receives a $10,000 post-graduate scholarship as one of Florida's nominees for the 2025 H. Boyd McWhorter Scholar-Athlete award. She can put that scholarship to use this summer when she begins classes at UF Medical School.
- Hurd, the 2017 World all-around champion, came to Florida for the spring 2022 semester, but was sidelined recovering from an anterior cruciate injury suffered before arriving in Gainesville. She turned in her collegiate-best 9.95 floor mark at Kentucky to help the Gators seal the 2024 Southeastern Conference regular-season title. In 2025, she contributed to the team as a photographer. Hurd twice earned WCGA Scholastic All-America honors and graduates from UF cum laude.
- A two-time All-American, Lazzari shared the 2021 SEC balance beam title. The three-time WCGA Scholastic All-American begins a three-year program to pursue a doctorate in Occupational Therapy at UF in August.
- Wong found success in both collegiate and elite competition in the last four seasons. She won medals at the 2021, 2022 and 2023 World Championships and finished her career as a 29-time All-American – third all-time for the Gators. Her 11 perfect marks is second all-time on the Gators Career 10.0 list, which includes earning a Gym Slam (10.0 in each apparatus). She's a three-time WCGA Scholastic All-American and graduates from UF this spring magna cum laude.
