Against UCF on Aug. 28, the Gators played the majority of the second half in the Knights half, but it was UCF that took advantage of its opportunity to score late. UCF's Rajanah Reed pounced on a deflection at top of Gators defensive third to move into the box and hit a 14-yard shot in the 87
th minute.

Addy Hess scored twice in the second half, with the first coming in the 53rd minute off a penalty kick earned when
Megan Hinnenkamp was fouled. UM's Tahirah Turnage-Morales cut UF's lead to one in the 58th minute but Hess pushed it to 3-1 in the 80th minute with her six-yard shot off the ball

Florida played a man-up for the final 64 minutes at Maryland. It was the second 2025 match the Gators played a man-up, as Towson played with nine field players from 26th minute on. Florida is one of four NCAA D1 teams this season playing a man-up in a pair of matches. The Gators' 105 man-up minutes leads those four teams (North Alabama/79 minutes; Texas A&M and Little Rock/47).

SEC Freshman of the Week Honors for Addy Hess:
For her performance Sunday, Addy Hess was named the Southeastern Conference Freshman of the Week. She is the 23rd in Florida's 31 season – and second this season – to score multiple goals in the same match as her first collegiate goal. She is the third on 2025 Gator roster who scored multiple goals in same match as their first collegiate goal – Hinnenkamp (2023) and
Katie Johnston (2025).

Florida Gulf Coast was 11-6-2 in 2024 and won the Atlantic Sun regular-season title at 9-1-1. In 2025, the Eagles are picked to finish second behind 2024 conference tournament champions Lipscomb in the preseason ASUN coaches poll.Â

Three Eagles are among the 2025 Preseason ASUN Team – forward Kendal Gargiula, midfielder Erika Zschuppe and defender Lauren Dwyer. FGCU's season opener versus Cal-State Fullerton was canceled due to weather. FGCU owns wins versus Webber International (6-0) and at Florida Atlantic (2-1). The only FGCU loss was versus LSU (6-1) and tied FIU 0-0 Sunday in Miami. Zschuppe is the Eagles points leader off four goals. Freshman Madara Matrevica owns a goals-against-average of 1.47.

Georgia State (3-2, 0-0 Sun Belt)
Georgia State was 5-7-7 in 2024 and was fifth in the Sun Belt with a 4-2-4 record. In 2025, the Panthers are picked to finish sixth in the preseason Sun Belt coaches poll.Â

Georgia State owns wins versus Truett McConnell (7-0), West Georgia (3-0) and Kennesaw State (4-0). Both losses came on the road – at Furman (2-1) and at No. 12 South Carolina (3-0). The Panthers play host to Samford on Sept. 4.

Junior forward Aaliyah Faddoul represents the Panthers on the preseason All-Sun Belt team. Junior Hina Suzuki's four goals leads Georgia State this season. Redshirt sophomore Ariana Anderson has played all but 15 minutes in goal for the Panthers in 2025 and owns a goals-against-average of 1.04.
