GAINESVILLE, Fla. – After her double goal performance in yesterday's 3-1 win at Maryland, Florida forward
Addy Hess earns the Southeastern Conference Freshman Soccer Player of the Week honor.
Hess is the first Gator to earn a league mention this season.
Other weekly SEC winners include Texas A&M's Kaylee Noble (Offensive) and South Carolina's Taylor Bloom (Defensive).
Quick Look at the Performance of Addy Hess:
- Scored the first two goals of collegiate career in less than a 29 minute span in the second half of Florida's 3-1 victory Sunday at Maryland. The first was a penalty kick. The final goal of the match was a one-touch from the corner of the six-yard box off Njeri Butts' run to keep ball from going over end line.
- Hess is the 23rd in Florida's 31 seasons to score multiple goals in the same match as her first collegiate goal. Of those 23, Hess is the seventh to score first multiple goals on the road.
Hess joined the Gators in the spring of 2025. She is a
2022 and
2023 United Soccer Coaches Club/Youth All-American and claimed the
2024 Gatorade Virginia Soccer Player of the Year award.

Florida begins its second three-match homestand Thursday versus Florida Gulf Coast (2-1-1, 0-0 ASUN). The Eagles season opener versus Cal-State Fullerton was canceled due to weather. FGCU owns wins versus Webber International (6-0) and at Florida Atlantic (2-1). The only FGCU loss was versus LSU (6-1). FGCU played Florida International to a scoreless tie Sunday in Miami.
