Oct. 19, 2026 Update
The U.S. advances to Wednesday's World Championships team final with the second-highest total from qualifying (164.529). China posted the high of 164.996 and Russia enters the final with the third-highest qualifying total of 163.662.
Skye Blakely is the only gymnast to advance to four individual event finals. She advanced to the Worlds beam final in 2022, taking fifth and the 2025 uneven bars final, taking fourth.
ROTTERDAM, Netherlands — Florida junior Skye Blakely led the U.S. in the all-around, uneven bars and balance beam Sunday in her World Championships all-around debut, helping the U.S. take the early team lead at the 2026 Artistic Gymnastics World Championships held at Rotterdam Ahoy.
Blakely posted a 55.465 all-around total, the highest score among all competitors through Sunday's three qualifying subdivisions. Her 14.166 on balance beam and 14.333 on uneven bars also led the U.S.
The performance marked another milestone in Blakely's return to elite all-around competition.
Competing in her fourth consecutive World Championships, Blakely made her first all-around appearance at the event. She returned to elite all-around competition in August at the Xfinity U.S. Gymnastics Championships, more than two years after suffering a torn Achilles tendon during podium training at the 2024 U.S. Olympic Trials.
Blakely also scored a 14.000 on vault and 12.966 on floor exercise to complete her four-event total.
U.S. teammate Claire Pease followed Blakely in the opening day's all-around standings with a 54.432. The U.S. led team qualifying with 164.529 points through the first three of 10 subdivisions.
Florida signee Dulcy Caylor also contributed to the U.S. effort Sunday, stepping into the balance beam lineup following Hezly Rivera's medical withdrawal Saturday. Caylor posted a 13.300, the second-highest beam score for the U.S. behind Blakely.
Women's qualification concludes Monday with seven subdivisions remaining. The top eight gymnasts on each apparatus advance to event finals, with a maximum of two competitors per country. The top 24 eligible all-around gymnasts advance to Friday's all-around final.
The women's team final is Wednesday, Oct. 21, with action beginning at 1 p.m. ET. Team final and all medal-round sessions stream on NBC's Peacock. The top three teams secure spots in the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles.
