Fung finished the prelims eighth overall with a score of 274.40 to advance to finals. She remained within the top-18 qualifying spots throughout prelims and jumped from 16th to ninth after scoring a 54.60 on her forward 2½ somersault pike and a 51.60 on her reverse 1½ somersault pike in the fourth and fifth rounds. Senior Casey Greenberg finished 26th overall with a prelims score of 239.15. She opened her list with a 42.00 on her inward 1½ somersault pike and closed with a 42.90 on her forward 1½ somersault with two twists.
Hear from Head Diving Coach Bryan Gillooly
"Really good start today. All three girls did a great job setting the tone for the week. We came here to qualify and that's what we did. Camyla making her third-straight NCAAs and Alexa qualifying as a freshman is no easy task. This will also take some of the pressure off for their upcoming events. Casey did us proud with a solid performance but we are really focusing on platform for her. Now it's time to move on a focus on day two."
