ORLANDO, Fla. – Behind a five-RBI game from Townsen Thomas, the No. 5/8 Florida softball team (45-7) secured the two-game series sweep over No. 22/21 UCF (36-14-1) with a 7-0 victory on Saturday evening at the UCF Softball Complex.
The Gators shut out the Knights in back-to-back games, outscoring them 14-0 and allowing just four total hits over 14 innings.
In her first start of the season, Olivia Miller (8-0) twirled her fourth career complete-game shutout, limiting UCF to just one hit, a season-low for the Knights, allowing no walks with two strikeouts.
It was the Orlando native's third top-25 victory of the season in the circle and her first complete-game shutout since Feb. 14, 2025 vs. Providence.
At the plate, Thomas slugged her first career grand slam in the top of the third, finishing the game with five RBIs, matching a career-best.
Cassidy McLellan drove in Florida's other two runs with an RBI triple, the first of her career, and a sacrifice fly.
All nine of Florida's starters recorded at least one hit, led by Thomas, Kenleigh Cahalan and Jocelyn Erickson who each had two hits apiece.
