Klimis, a setter, saw regular playing time for Houston in 2025.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Sophomore setter Olivia Klimis is set to join Gators volleyball for the 2026 season, head coach Ryan Theis announced Wednesday afternoon.
Klimis, a 5-foot-9 setter, joins the Gators as a sophomore after appearing in 23 matches for the Houston Cougars during the 2025 season.
"We are excited to add Olivia to the Gators family," Theis said. "Within about 15 minutes of our first phone call, I could tell she was the perfect fit for our program and culture. She's a great teammate, hard-working and a selfless player. Fun fact for Gator Nation, her mom, Allison Lange, set at Alabama and played against my wife … We're still trying to find the footage if anyone has a copy!"
During her freshman campaign, Klimis established regular playing time in Houston's 6-2 offense. She ranked third on the team with 120 assists, averaging 2.18 assists per set while notching two double-doubles. She set a career-high in assists with 19 against Baylor on Nov. 15, 2025.
Klimis is the seventh newcomer to join the Gators for the 2026 campaign, joining freshman opposite/outside hitter Nadi'ya Shelby and five transfers: outside hitters Kamryn Chaney and Selena Leban, middle blockers Brooklyn Briscoe and Brianna Holladay and setter Bri Denney.
Why Klimis Chose the University of Florida
"I chose the University of Florida because it checks every box I want in my overall college experience. The program's strong culture, amazing coaches and elite facilities create the perfect environment for me to grow as both a player and a person. Academically, Florida will challenge and prepare me for my future beyond volleyball. Being close to my family in Florida makes it even more meaningful, as I'm able to stay connected to them while pursuing my goals as a Gator!"
