Overview
  • Averaged 10.1 points with a .403 3-point field goal percentage in 92 career appearances, starting 79 games.
  • Finished his time at Florida ranked #9 in UF history with 217 career 3-point field goals and #8 in 3-point field goal attempts with 538.
  • An elite shooter who set Florida’s freshman record with 81 made 3-pointers and averaged 2.36 made 3-pointers per game over his career.
  • Possesses a 6-foot-8 wingspan and is a dangerous shooter both off the dribble and in catch-and-shoot situations.
  • One of the top shooters in the nation’s 2018 class, Locke rates as a four-star prospect and was a member of the ESPN 100.
 
2020-21, Junior Season
  • Averaged 10.6 points per game and hit a team-high 57 3-pointers, starting 24 of 25 games and scoring double figures 14 times.
  • Ranked fifth in the SEC with 2.3 3-point field goals per game.
  • Scored 19 in the win at #11 West Virginia, including 4-for-7 from 3-point range. His two 3-pointers in a 34-second span put UF ahead, 59-58, at the 13:50 mark in the second half after trailing by seven early in the half.
  • Hit the go-ahead 3-pointer in the comeback win vs. Ole Miss, part of a 14-0 Florida run to close out the game. Locke scored 10 of his 15 points in the second half.
  • Notched his 10th career game with five-plus made 3-pointers, hitting five of six attempts vs. Stetson, including four in a five-minute span during the second half.
  • Averaged 15.3 points per game during the Gators’ season-best four-game winning streak, shooting 13-for-30 (.433) from 3-point range during that stretch.
 
2019-20, Sophomore Season
  • Averaged 10.6 points per game and improved his 3-point percentage by more than five percent, hitting at a .432 clip from long range (79-for-183).
  • Locke shot .481 from 3-point range in SEC play, tied for the highest in league play by an SEC player with 50+ makes since 1996 (John Jenkins, Vanderbilt).
  • Hit a season-high six 3-pointers vs. Vanderbilt and made three or more in 10 SEC games.
  • Had a 24-game streak, tied for seventh-longest in UF history. Within that, Locke had 15 games in a row with multiple 3-pointers, the best in Florida history (Brett Nelson, 12, 2000-01).
  • After missing his first three 3-pointers vs. #4 Auburn, Locke knocked down his last four on the way to 14 points to help UF to its first top-five win in a decade.
  • Earned his first career double-double vs. Long Beach State with 16 points and 10 rebounds.
  • Had 18 points in the Gators’ 21-point comeback win vs. Alabama and scored a season-best 21 in the road victory at Texas A&M.
 
2018-19, Freshman Season
  • Averaged 9.4 points, second on the team, and hit 2.3 3-pointers per game, fifth in the SEC, while appearing in all 36 games with 26 starts.
  • Led the team with a .379 3-point percentage and 81 made 3-pointers.
  • His six games with five or more made 3-pointers marked the most all-time by a UF freshman.
  • Starting alongside fellow freshmen Keyontae Johnson and Andrew Nembhard, Locke was part of the first freshman trio to start at Florida since 1999 when LaDarius Halton, Udonis Haslen and Mike Miller started together.
  • His streak of nine straight double-figure scoring games was the longest by a Florida freshman since Bradley Beal had 10 straight in 2011-12.
  • His six games with 5+ 3-pointers surpassed Kenny Boynton’s old record (four) for the most such games by a Florida freshman.
  • Exploded for 27 points, including 7-for-13 from 3-point range, in the win vs. Texas A&M. He and KeVaughn Allen, who made eight 3-pointers, combined for 15 threes, most ever by two Florida players in a single game.
  • Scored 22 with 6-for-11 shooting beyond the arc vs. Ole Miss.
  • Locke became the first Gator since Michael Frazier II to have back-to-back games with 5+ 3-pointers, hitting five against Mercer and FGCU. Frazier did so as a sophomore in Nov. 2013 at Jacksonville and vs. Florida State.
  • Made his first career start and scored 11 points in the Battle 4 Atlantis win vs. Stanford.

  • Parents are Vanessa and Kyle Locke and siblings are Kayel and Paris Locke.
  • Both parents played basketball at Coppin State, and his younger sister plays as well.
  • Brother Kayel plays basketball overseas after a four-year career at UNC Greensboro where he scored 1,522 points to rank sixth in UNCG history and 652 rebounds to rank seventh.
  • Favorite NBA players are LeBron James and Kevin Durant.
  • Wears #10 because it’s his favorite number.
  • Came to Florida because it is the best fit for him and his family. Locke likes the playing style and family atmosphere and views Florida as the best place to help him get to the NBA.
  • Prides himself on being a hard worker and all about family.
  • Also visited Ohio State, Michigan, Providence and Xavier.
