Overview

  • Finished his career as the Gators’ all-time assists leader with 571.
    Also finished among UF’s all-time leaders in steals (4th, 191) and games played (10th, 139).
  • The 54th member of UF’s 1,000-point club, scoring 1,025 throughout his career.
  • Made one of the most memorable shots in Gator history, hitting a 3-pointer at the buzzer to beat Wisconsin in overtime in the NCAA Sweet Sixteen at Madison Square Garden.
  • Twice led the SEC in assist-to-turnover ratio, both as a junior (2.4) and senior (3.4).
    Also led the SEC in assists as a senior (6.1).
  • Led the Gators in assists for the 2015-16 season and ranked sixth in the SEC in assist-to-turnover ratio (2.4).
  • Had 10 career games with 8+ assists and one or fewer turnovers, most by any Gator since 1996.

2017-18, Senior Season

  • The Gators’ unquestioned leader and floor general, leading UF back to the NCAA Tournament for the second straight season.
  • Became the second player in Florida history along with Nick Calathes to post a 200-assist season, notching 208.
  • Named coaches first-team All-SEC and AP second-team All-SEC.
  • Earned a place on the SEC All-Defensive Team, posting 65 steals, the 4th-best single-season total in UF history.
  • Became the first player since 2011 and the sixth over the past 20 years to record 11+ assists without a turnover in an NCAA Tournament game, doing so in UF’s first-round win vs. St. Bonaventure.
  • Nabbed a pick-six steal and layup with 0.1 seconds left to lift Florida to a road win at Missouri.
  • Gutted out a monumental 26-point, 10-assist, 8-rebound effort in the double overtime win vs. Gonzaga, including a 4-for-5 night from 3-point range. Chiozza is the first Gator in records dating since 1996 to score 25 and dish 10 assists in a game. He is only the 10th player this decade to do so vs. a ranked team.
  • Led the Gators with 20 points and six assists in the win vs. Baylor, in one stretch scoring 13 straight Florida points.
  • Helped lift Florida to its sixth season sweep of UK in program history.

2016-17, Junior Season

  • Played every game and, though he did not start any games, Chiozza led the SEC in assist-to-turnover ratio (2.4).
  • Knocked down a runner 3-point shot at the buzzer in overtime to lift the Gators to a one-point overtime win vs. Wisconsin in the NCAA Sweet Sixteen at Madison Square Garden. Chiozza took the inbound with 4.0 seconds remaining and went the length of the floor to hit the shot.
  • Named to the NCAA All-East Regional Team.
  • Earned a spot on the SEC Community Service Team for his efforts in the Gainesville community.
  • Recorded the Gators’ first triple-double in eight years with 12 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists vs. Missouri, followed by a nine-rebound, nine-assist outing vs. Kentucky to earn SEC Player of the Week honors.
  • Late in the season, scored double figures in a personal-best five straight games.


2015-16, Sophomore Season

  • Started 15 of the Gators’ 18 SEC games and finished with 22 starts, leading the Gators in assists and posting the SEC’s sixth-best assist-to-turnover ratio.
  • Had an all-around game at Missouri matching his career high with 17 points, setting a personal best with seven rebounds, while also posting eight assists vs. one turnover. Chiozza scored Florida’s first eight points of the second half.
  • Scored 11 of Florida’s first 13 points of the second half at Michigan State, and assisted on the one basket by someone else.
  • Notched his first career four-point play in the win vs. North Carolina A&T.
  • Scored seven straight Florida points in one spurt during the season-opening win at Navy.

2014-15, Freshman Season

  • Played in all 33 games and started 11, including the final five games of the season.
  • Tallied a team-high 39 steals, which ranked third among SEC freshmen.
  • Posted three double-figure scoring games, with his season-best 13 coming in Florida’s win vs. UAB at the Battle 4 Atlantis.
  • The Gators’ second-leading assist man behind Kasey Hill, recording 72 vs. 41 turnovers.

Prep
  • During his senior season, White Station composed a 30-3 record, including a 12-0 district record, as Chiozza averaged 15 points and eight assists on a team that also included 2014-15 Division I freshmen Leron Black (Illinois) and DaVell Roby (St. Louis).
  • Helped White Station to a 22-6 record and district championship during his junior season.
  • Participated in the 2013 Under Armour Elite 24 and NBA Top 100 Camp.
  • Competed at the LeBron James and Deron Williams Skills Academies and the Penny Hardaway Hoopfest.
  • Coached by Jesus Patino at White Station.
