POSTCARDS May 10-22, 2004 |
May 18, 2004 Dear Gator Fans, | The wake-up call came early as we departed Leverkuesen for Paris at 7:00. With the players sprawled out across the seats and wet uniforms hanging from the overhead shelf, there were plenty of jokes regarding the "neighborhood" in the back of the bus. We arrived in Paris around 15:00 and soon received our lesson on the Metro. Good thing, because the bus (and the unbelievably talented bus driver Frank and his wife/interpreter, Doreen returned to Germany as soon as the bus was unloaded). The Gators are all Metro from this point forward. Word of warning: if you ride the center moving sidewalk (and we mean moving at 9k/hour) at the Montparnasse Bienvenue, watch your step (just ask Mark or Marcie). | The players take advantage of some time to rest before arriving in Paris. | In the couple of hours prior to meeting back together for dinner, the Gators covered the Notre Dame Cathedral, the Jardin deLuxenbourg, the Pantheon, and St. Sulpice Church (anyone read the Da Vinci code?). And where else would we dine our first night in Paris? The Kiotori Japanese Restaurant, where else? Tomorrow's match is scheduled for 20:30. Just imagine how much damage the Gators can do in that much time! Au Revoir, Mary P.S. The group that visited the Eiffel Tower after dinner, gave a thumbs to the crepes located Rue De Grenelle. | | Sherri Williams (left), Amber McCray, Michelle Chatman, Marcie Hampton, Jane Collymore and Rhian Davis stop outside the Notre Dame Cathedral Tuesday. | |
