STUDENT BASKETBALL TICKET PROCEDURES
Eligibility Requirements
Gator Basketball games are FREE for University of Florida students who pay the athletic fee. Students must maintain at least one (1) UF credit hour in order to be eligible to attend these games. UF online and PACE Students are able to attend for free if they opted in to pay the student fees. More information about those fees can be found here.
Registration
University of Florida students register for basketball games via FloridaGators.com/students. Registration becomes available at various dates throughout the season and can be found here. The students who register are guaranteed admission as long as they enter the O’Connell Center by tip-off.
Entering the O’Connell Center on Game Day
Students enter the O’Connell Center at gate three (3) starting two (2) hours prior to tip-off. Students must bring their most recent Gator 1 ID card to enter the game. A limited number of students will receive a wristband for the lower level. After the wristbands are distributed, students without a wristband will be directed to the upper level. Only students who are registered for a game are guaranteed a spot in the O’Connell Center by tip-off. There is no re-entry.
Online/PaCE Students
Students who do not opt-in to pay the student fees, are able to purchase a ticket to sit within the student section for all men’s basketball games. The price of each game will vary, pricing is listed here and will be the blue third level section pricing. Students will register for the game they would like to attend, and then within 24 hours from tip-off of that game, they will be able to pay for their ticket. Students will receive an email before each game with instructions on how to pay for the ticket. Registration, guest tickets, and spouse tickets will be the same process.
Canceling a Registration
Students who registered but cannot attend a game can avoid the three game penalties by unregistering up to 24 hours prior to tip-off via floridagators.com/students. Within 24 hours of the game, students can email the Student Ticket Office stating they would like to cancel. Late cancellations must be received before the gates open for the game, which is two (2) hours prior to tip-off for students. Please include your eight digit UF ID number in the email. Students are limited to two (2) late cancellations.
Guest Tickets
A limited number of guest tickets may be available for each Gator Basketball game. Students can purchase, if available, at the customer service table located inside Gate three (3) of the O’Connell Center starting two (2) hours prior to tip-off. The cost of guest tickets vary depending on the game and are located in the student sections. You can find the pricing here, it will be the 200 level section pricing.
Married Students
Married students can purchase a ticket for their spouse for each game at the customer service table located inside Gate three (3) of the O’Connell Center starting two (2) hours prior to tip-off.
Men's Basketball Rowdy Reptiles Status
Students who attend at least eight (8) Gator Basketball games will earn Gator Basketball Rowdy Reptile status. Having Gator Basketball Rowdy Reptile status will allow students to register for games in advance.
*This is a different program than the Rowdy Reptile Student Rewards. The Rowdy Reptile Student Rewards program does not relate to your student basketball registration.
Student Seating
The student section will be located in sections: 09, 11, 13 & 15 in the lower level and 206-217 within the upper level. You can find the seating areas along with information about the O’Connell Center Renovation at FloridaGators.com/renovation.
Student ADA Seating
Students with wheelchair and/or accessible seating needs for men’s basketball will need to enter through Gate 3 which is the Student Gate. If a guest/companion ticket is needed, they will need to be purchased at the box office located inside of Gate 3 once the doors open and students enter the building. Wheelchair and companion seats are located in sections 211 and 213, which are side court and part of the student section. In order to access sections 211 and 213 from Gate 3, students will need to use the elevator located near the practice court (enter the concourse and make a left). The elevator will let customers off at the top of section 121, students will need to make a right off the elevator and travel around the concourse until they arrive at sections 211 and 213. Students will be directed to specific seats within these sections when checking in at the box office in Gate 3.
FAQ
How do I register for basketball games?
Students must visit floridagators.com/students to reserve their seat to the game(s) they wish to attend. There will be different registration dates throughout the season. Entry to basketball games are FREE for UF students.
Can I register for the entire season or just game-by-game?
“Clusters” of one, two or three games will open up on different dates throughout the season. These dates will be listed on floridagators.com/students. At these times you will be able to register for the available games only. Students that have Rowdy Reptile Status will have a pre-register date for the whole season.
How many UF credit hours do I need to be registered to attend free as a student? Does the football 6-credit hour rule apply?
ALL students (undergraduate and graduate) must maintain at least one (1) UF credit hour to be able to attend a Gator Basketball game.
I’m a UF Online/PACE Student, am I eligible to attend free as a student?
If you have opted in to pay the student fees, yes you may attend for free. All the fee information can be found here. If you have not opted in to pay those fees, you may pay to attend and be able to sit within the student section. You will register just as a fee paying student, and then within 24 hours of tip-off you may pay for that ticket. More information here.
Do I have to be in the game by a certain time? Tip-off?
You are guaranteed a spot in the arena if you enter by tip-off. After tip-off, you will have to wait in the unregistered line until that line is granted entry. There is no guarantee you will get in after tip-off.
What gate do I enter and what time will the gates open?
Gate three (3) of the Stephen C. O’Connell Center is the designated Student gate. This gate will open two (2) hours prior to tip-off.
Is there a need to camp out? When can I start camping out?
Students can only camp out one day prior to a weekend contest. Students can start to camp out at 5 p.m. Friday for a Saturday game or 5 p.m. Saturday for a Sunday game. There are no campouts permitted for weekday games. Students can line up starting at 1 p.m. the day of a weekday game. All line ups are at Gate Three (3).
Can I sit in the lower level? How? Upper level? How?
You may sit in any part of the student section, lower or upper. However, there’s a limited number of seats in the lower level so it is recommended you line up at Gate three (3) well before the start of the game. If you do not have a seating preference, you may come at any time prior to tip-off and sit in the upper level.
How can I sit with my friends?
You and your friends must all come to Gate three (3) of the O'Connell Center together to line up and then enter the game together.
Can I purchase guest tickets?
There may be a limited number of student guest tickets for sale on the day of each game at Gate 3. Once a guest ticket is purchased you must enter the Stephen C. O’Connell Center (No Re-Entry).
How am I eligible for post season tickets?
Post season eligibility varies from year to year. The ticket office will email out details on eligibility requirements for each round of the NCAA Tournament.
Are seats general admission or reserved?
ALL student seats are general admission, first-come, first-seated in the designated student sections.
