Dillon Stewart
Detective Dillon Stewart is the University of Florida Police Department’s 2019 Officer of the Year. He works in the Criminal Investigations Division and serves as a Critical Incident Response Team member, Field Training Officer, and FBI Task Force member. His wife and daughter are proud to join in celebrating his accomplishments.
Daymon Kizzar
Officer Kizzar Served in the USCG from 1990 until 2000. He was recalled to active duty 2002- 2004 after the 9/11 terrorist attacks. Officer Kizzar has worked at UFPD since 2002. He was recently named the 2018 UFPD Officer of the Year, this is awarded to a sworn member of the department who consistently demonstrate exemplary performance of duties, setting the highest standards, being a model officer, and has brought only praise and recognition to the Department and its members.

Ernie Benjamin Jr.
Fire Inspector Ernie Benjamin Jr as a veteran of the Unites States military forces, the team leader for GFR’s Honor Guard and has a lead role in the enforcement detail. Inspector Benjamin joined GFR in 2001 as a firefighter, was promoted to Driver Operator in 2006 and promoted into the Risk Reduction Bureau as a Fire Inspector in 2013.

Glenn Glasgow
Rescue Lieutenant Glenn Glasgow has worked for Alachua County Fire Rescue for 12 years and has been in the United State Army for 21 years. Glenn has had numerous deployments including two to Iraq and was an active duty First Sergeant for Warrior Transition Battalion for 2 years. He has an A.S. degree in EMS and a Bachelor’s degree in Business from the University of Florida. Glenn resides in Gainesville with his wife, Jeannine and son Giovanni.
Ron Lewis
Ron was born in Miami, Florida and grew up in South Florida as youth. Ron joined the ARMY when he was 21 and retired after 23 year of service. Ron is a combat veteran of Operation Enduring Freedom, Afghanistan where he served with his oldest son Kyle.
Ron has been married to his wife, Shelly and they have two sons, Christian and Conner. Ron has two other sons, Kyle and Zack and three grandchildren.
Ron is involved in his community as a Boy Scout leader in Alachua’s Troop 88. He also does community service work to include Food-4-kids and the Appalachian Service Project.
Ron has been a Paramedic-Firefighter for over 35 years. He holds an A.S degree in Emergency Medical Services and a B.S. Degree in Health Care Management.

Michael Vogel
Michael Vogel, born in Toledo Ohio, served in the United States Marine Corps from 1984 to 1988. After serving in the Corps he choose a career in the Fire Service. He volunteered at first then took his first fire job with the Woodlands Fire Department, located just North of Houston Texas. He later moved to the Dallas area and took a job with the Arlington Fire Department. He retired after 21 years of service as a Deputy Chief. He is now an Assistant Chief with ACFR. He has a wife of 25 years and 5 children, all adopted. His son Levi is currently serving in the United States Air Force. His 10 year old, Cavender, says he will complete the circle and join the Coast Guard. Cavender’s grandfather served in the Navy and Army.
