AS A JUNIOR (2018): Enjoyed perhaps the most decorated season of any Florida player in school history…Named the National Player of the Year by multiple outlets, the National Pitcher of the Year and the SEC Pitcher of the Year…The second player in school history to win the Dick Howser Trophy, presented to the collegiate player of the year, joining Mike Zunino (2012)…Led the team with a 12-3 record as the Friday night ace; his 12 wins tied for fifth-most in a season at Florida…Finished 18th nationally with a 0.94 WHIP…Led the SEC with a 2.55 earned run average and ranked third with a .203 batting average against…Limited right-handed hitters to a .194 average…In conference play, led the league with a .168 average against and posted a 2.32 ERA…Had a 5.2 strikeout-to-walk ratio on the season (114 strikeouts, 22 walks)…Finished his career with 282.2 innings pitched, 10th in school history…Totaled 281 career strikeouts, seventh in Florida history…He made 17 starts on the season and went at least 7.0 innings in 11 of them…He allowed more than three earned runs just twice all season…Had 13 quality starts on the year, going at least 6.0 innings with three earned runs or less…Had a stretch of six-straight starts in which he went at least seven innings (April 13 vs. Missouri – June 2 vs. Jacksonville)…Named the SEC Pitcher of the Week after a complete game shutout at Texas A&M in which he limited the Aggies to six hits over nine innings…Selected No. 18 overall in the 2018 MLB Draft by the Kansas City Royals.

AS A SOPHOMORE (2017): Joined the Gators weekend rotation and led the team with 126.0 innings pitched on the season in 20 appearances (19 starts) with a 9-5 record…Earned All-SEC Second Team Honors…Made two starts at the 2017 College World Series with a combined 14.0 innings and 21 strikeouts while picking up two wins to earn a spot on the 2017 CWS All-Tournament Team…In his final start of the year, he struck out 12 LSU batters in Game 1 of the CWS finals in a 4-3 win…His 12 strikeouts are the most ever in a CWS Finals game and the most by a UF pitcher in CWS history…His 126.0 total innings led the SEC and ranked third in the country; it’s the eighth-most by a UF pitcher in a single season in program history…Totaled 129 strikeouts, sixth-most in a single season in UF history and 11th-most in the country in 2017…Led the SEC with 51 strikeouts looking…Out of 19 total starts, had 12 quality starts with at least six innings pitched and three or less earned runs allowed; had a stretch of six quality starts in a row from March 11-April 14…Averaged 6.30 innings per start, highest on the team…Pitched back-to-back complete games in wins over LSU and Missouri…Allowed just one run on six hits against LSU and one run on three hits at Missouri…Had three complete games on the season, third-most in the SEC…Did not walk more than three batters in a game the entire season and totaled double-digit strikeouts on three occasions (Miami-11, Alabama-10, LSU-12)…Named to the 2017 USA Baseball Collegiate National Team but did not participate due to the Gators’ extended postseason.

AS A FRESHMAN (2016): Made 23 appearances for the Gators this season, including 1 start…Pitched to a 2-2 record with an ERA of 4.95…Gave up 26 runs (24 earned) on 43 hits and 17 walks with 38 strikeouts in 43.2 innings…Allowed opponents to hit just .265 against him…Led all first-year Gators in innings pitched…Committed 0 errors in the field…He was one of three Gator pitchers to allow 0 home runs on the year…In his first career appearance, threw 3 perfect innings with 3 strikeouts and recorded his first career win, against Florida Gulf Coast…Made his first career start in an elimination game against Alabama in the SEC tournament and pitched 6 innings, allowing 4 runs in a Gator win.

SUMMER (2016): Was one of the top performers in the prestigious Cape Cod Baseball League, starring for the Falmouth Commodores...He started six games and allowed just two earned runs in 28 innings (0.64 ERA) with 25 strikeouts and three walks...The Commodores advanced to the Championship Series but lost in the deciding third game...The Commodores finished second in the Collegiate Summer Baseball Rankings.

HIGH SCHOOL: Right-handed pitcher from Eustis High School who played for head coach David Lee…Selected in the second round of the 2015 Major League Baseball Draft by the Toronto Blue Jays with the 56th overall pick…Ranked as the No. 54 national prospect and was No. 11 in the state of Florida by Baseball America for the MLB Draft…Rated No. 10 in the state of Florida and was the No. 3 right-hander in the Class of 2015 Final Rankings by Perfect Game…Named to the Class 5A All-State Team and to the All-Area Team from the Orlando Sentinel last spring…Honored as the Lake County Player of the Year…Was 8-3 with a 1.25 earned run average as a senior, with six complete games and 110 strikeouts in 67 innings…Limited opponents to a .146 batting average…Earned the Cy Young Award of the Florida League High School Invitational (FHSI) Challenge…Started the first game of the week for Eustis against Forest and allowed just one earned run and struck out 11 batters with just one walk In the complete-game victory…Made a second appearance, coming into the championship game with a one-run lead and a runner on third base…Made quick work of his batter to earn the save…Participated in the 2015 Florida Athletic Coaches Association All-Star Game…Was a second-team Preseason All-American and was named to the Florida All-Region First Team by Rawlings/Perfect Game prior to his senior year… Chosen as a second-team Preseason Underclassmen All-American before his junior year.
