2003: Started in 51 of the 54 games that he appeared in ... Started at three different spots with 32 starts as the designated hitter, 12 in left field and seven in right field ... Had a season-high six game hit streak to open the season Feb. 8-21 ... Ended career with five game hit streak. Named to Coral Gables Regional All-Tournament team after batting a tournament best .737 (14-19) with two doubles, four homers, 12 runs scored and 12 RBI. Had a team-best 20 multi-RBI contests and was fourth on the team with 21 multi-hit games ... Led the team with 66 RBI which also ranked second in the SEC ... Became first player to hit pinch hit homer in two years March 19 when hit a homer vs. Massachusetts. On March 12 he tied school record for hits in a game with 5-5, four-run, three RBI, two double performance vs. College of Charleston. Set new league record with seven runs scored against Siena Feb. 27. In that game he went 3-5 with two walks and an RBI. Went 2-2 with two homers and three RBI Feb. 24 vs. Siena. Hit multiple homers in a game twice. Had a 10-game hit streak. Recorded 14 multi-hit and nine multi-RBI contests. Had three or more hits in a game three times. Made first start/appearance at home as the designated hitter on opening day against Charleston Southern Feb. 2.
1999-2001 AT STANFORD: Played two seasons at Stanford for head coach Mark Marquess where he served as a backup catcher. Appeared in 12 games with five starts, hit .182 (4-22) with one double, home run and two RBI in 2001. Hit first collegiate home run, a two-run shot vs. UCLA April 8. Helped lead Stanford to a 51-17 record and College World Series appearance. Played in 17 games with three starts as a freshman in 2000. Hit .130 (3-23) with two doubles and an RBI. Went 1-3 in start at catcher with a double vs. Sacramento State April 4, 2000. Also in 2000 he doubled vs. Southern California March 18 and registered an RBI vs. USC March 22.
SUMMER: In the summer of 2002 he played in the Cape Cod League for the Hyannis Mets. Batted .253 (22-87) with eight doubles, one home run and 10 RBI. Played for Anchorage Bucs of the Alaskan League in 1999. Hit .298 (28-94) with eight doubles, two home runs and six RBI in 31 games. Led Youngstown Astro Falcons to third-place finish at Connie Mack World Series in 1999. Hit .500 with three home runs in tournament and .375 with 11 home runs over 1999 summer. Played with the 1997 U.S. Youth National Team.
PREP: A 1999 graduate of Melbourne Central Catholic High School where he lettered four years for head coach Tom Dooley. Two-time All State and four-time All Space Coast Conference selection. Two-time team MVP. Hit .426 with 16 home runs and 107 RBI in his four-year career. Hit .438 with two home runs, 31 RBI and 25 steals as a senior. Hit .475 with 10 home runs, 38 RBI as a junior.
