AS A FRESHMAN (2016): Played in 64 games and started 59, primarily playing in LF and RF…Hit .256 (50-195) with 30 RBI and 35 runs scored…15 of his 50 hits went for extra bases, including 6 home runs, 2 triples, and 7 doubles, good for a slugging percentage of .405…His 6 home runs ranked fourth on the team and first among outfielders…Walked 25 times to go along with 38 strikeouts for an OBP of .350…Went 6 for 7 on stolen base attempts, which ranked fifth on the team…Committed 0 errors in the field…Played in 29 games in SEC play, starting all 29…Hit .300 (30-100) in SEC play, with 2 home runs and 12 RBI…Was the only Gator with a multi-HR game against SEC competition, swatting 2 HR against Kentucky on March 25…His first career hit was a pinch-hit, game-tying RBI single in the bottom of the ninth against Eastern Michigan…Hit .333 during the SEC Tournament…Named to the NCAA Gainesville Regional All-Tournament team.
SUMMER (2016): Played for the Madison Mallards in the Northwoods League...Batted .298 (37-for-120) with 11 doubles and four home runs for the Mallards, who earned the No. 2 seed in the division for the playoffs with a 43-29 record.
HIGH SCHOOL: Infielder from Jefferson High School who played for head coaches Emeterio “Pop” Cuesta and Juan Fontela…Ranked as No. 7 third baseman in the state of Florida in the Class of 2015 Final Rankings from Perfect Game…Rated No. 124 in Florida by Baseball America for the MLB Draft…Selected to the Class 6A All-State Team last spring…As a senior, he hit .458 with 22 RBI, 12 stolen bases, 11 doubles and three homers…Earned the 2015 Wade Boggs Athletic Achievement Award, presented to a Hillsborough County baseball player who combines athletic, academic and community achievements…Was an Honorable Mention Preseason All-American and was named Florida All-Region Honorable Mention by Rawlings/Perfect Game prior to his senior year…Was a 2014 First-Team Tampa Tribune All-Hillsborough County selection after hitting .432 with 26 RBI, 25 runs, 12 stolen bases and four homers…Named a Perfect Game Underclass High Honorable Mention All-American in his junior season.
