COACHING ACCOMPLISHMENTS
  • In all, Davis has coached 13 all-conference offensive linemen and one All-America selection since 2009
    • Additionally, he has been credited for developing five players who earned roster positions in the National Football League in the same time frame
    • Davis has served two separate NFL summer internships, working with the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2011 and Seattle Seahawks in 2012
  • During his lone season at East Carolina (2015), Davis guided the duo of running back Chris Hairston and quarterback James Summers to combine for 1,200 yards rushing and 16 touchdowns
  • Davis coached an offense at James Madison (2014) that stood 10th in total offense (484.6 ypg.), 17th in scoring (35.7 ppg.) and 21st in both rushing and passing
    • Davis coached quarterback Vad Lee to JMU single-season school records in passing completions (282), attempts (465), yards (3,462) and touchdowns (30) as well as total offense (4,288 yards)
    • In addition to Lee, Davis had a direct impact on the development of an All-Colonial Athletic Association performer, offensive lineman Mitchell Kirsch
  • During his five years on the staff at Portland State (2009-13), Davis helped 10 players earn All-Big Sky Conference honors while ranking among the nation’s leaders in fewest sacks allowed during that time
    • In his last two years at PSU, his line surrendered only a combined 19 sacks to rank ninth (2013) and fifth (2012) nationally, respectively
      • Four of his five starters earned honorable mention All-Big Sky Conference honors in 2012: Kyle Ritt, Mitch Gaulke, Cornelius Edison and Mitchell Van Dyk.
  • In 2013, Portland State led the Big Sky in total offense and it third in scoring offense… Nationally, PSU ranked third in rushing offense and total offense
    • That team set school records with 6,486 total yards, 3,330 rushing yards, a 277.7 rushing average, 540.5 total offense average and 36 rushing touchdowns.
  • In 2010 and 2011, Davis’ line led the Viking running game as a two-time Big Sky Conference leader in rushing yards
    • In 2011, the Vikings had the fewest sacks allowed in the league - just 11 despite nearly 300 pass attempts - ranking as 13th-best in the nation

  • QB VAD LEE – 2014 Associated Press Third Team All-American, Finalist for the Walter Payton Award, Second Team All-CAA, Won Bill Dudley Award, honoring Virginia's top Division I player, 2014-15 JMU Male Student-Athlete of the Year.
 
PLAYING CAREER
Davis is a 2003 graduate of the University of Oklahoma where he was a starting offensive lineman for Bob Stoops. He competed on two Big XII Championship teams, and played in the Independence Bowl (1999), the Orange Bowl (2000), the Cotton Bowl (2001) and the Rose Bowl (2002). Davis was the team’s Most Valuable Offensive Lineman in 2002.
