A redshirt junior who is battling for a top backup role at cornerback... Named a recipient of UF's Everyday Award on defense this spring... Has played in seven regular season games for 30 plays... Also played in 1999 Orange Bowl... Four career special teams tackles... Began his Gator career as a wide receiver... 1998 - Played in two regular season games (Vanderbilt, South Carolina) for three plays... Also played in Orange Bowl... One special teams tackle... 1997 - Played in five games (Central Michigan, Kentucky, Arkansas, Vanderbilt, South Carolina) for 27 plays... A backup at cornerback who also played some with the special teams... Three special teams tackles on the year... 1996 - Did not see any game action and was redshirted... Worked with the scout team first at wide receiver and then at cornerback.... Prep - A two-way standout (WR/DB) for St. Thomas the past two seasons who earned prep All-America honors in 1995 as a receiver... Emfinger National Blue Chips Report named him an All-American and rated him among the top seven prep wide receivers in the nation... A fourth-team All-America selection by Bluechips Illustrated, which selected him among the top five WR prospects in the Southeast... National Recruiting Advisor named him one of the top five wide receivers in the Southeast... Outstanding speed (timed at 10.5 in the 100 meters)... 18 catches for 301 yards in 1995 along with 31 tackles at cornerback... Helped team to District 5 championship in both 1994 and 1995... County champion in the 100 and 200 meters in 1995... High school coach was George Smith... The nephew of Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Michael Irvin... Also visited Maryland and Notre Dame ...
