Biography

A redshirt junior who is seeking to return to action after suffering a severe knee injury last September against Kentucky, a game in which he started at wide receiver... Underwent reconstructive surgery and missed rest of the 1998 season, as well as all of spring drills... His status for start of fall drills in August is questionable... A two-time letterwinner... Has played in 10 regular season games with one start for 73 plays... Also played in 1998 Citrus Bowl... Three career receptions for 19 yards and one touchdown... Received the John Eibner Award (scout team unsung hero) in 1996... 1998 - Played in four regular season games (The Citadel, Northeast Louisiana, Tennessee, Kentucky) with one start (Kentucky) for 41 plays... Was battling for a top spot in the wide receiver rotation before injuring his knee against Kentucky in week four, which sidelined him for the rest of the season... Two receptions for 11 yards... Made first career start against Kentucky before suffering season-ending knee injury... 1997 - Played in six games (Central Michigan, Kentucky, Arkansas, Auburn, Georgia, Florida State) for 32 plays as a backup at wide receiver... Also played in Citrus Bowl... One catch for eight yards and one touchdown on the year... Made Gator debut vs. Central Michigan and caught an eight-yard pass for first career TD... Named UF's Most Improved Freshman on offense during spring... 1996 - Did not see any game action and was redshirted... Worked with the scout team at wide receiver... Received the John Eibner Award (scout team unsung hero) ... Prep - Considered one of the state's speediest receivers... Honorable mention All-Southeastern honors from Bluechips Illustrated... 28 catches for 500 yards (17.9 avg.) with six TDs in '95... Also returned two kickoffs for TDs in 1995 and four kickoffs for TDs in his career... Played running back as a junior in 1994 and rushed for 745 yards on 142 carries with eight TDs... Named squad Offensive Most Valuable Player in 1994... Received the Presidential Physical Fitness Award from 1987-90... MVP of baseball team in 1992 and 1993... High school coach was Nigel Dunn...Was elected one of the 500 black role models in Dade County... Also visited Minnesota and Mississippi State...  Major - Public Recreation.
