Biography

A redshirt junior who is going to have to play a top role for a defensive tackle unit that is shy on depth... One of only four returning scholarship players at defensive tackle... Enters the fall battling redshirt freshman Chris Reynolds for the starting nod at right tackle... Named a tri-recipient of UF's Everyday Award on defense this spring... Has played in 12 regular season games for 124 plays... Also played in 1999 Orange Bowl... Five career tackles... 1998 - Saw action in eight regular season games (all but Tennessee, Alabama and LSU) for 88 plays... Also played in Orange Bowl... Four tackles and one fumble recovery (vs. Vanderbilt) on the year... Saw action in a career-high 28 plays vs. Vanderbilt... Received the defensive unit's Most Persistent Award during spring... 1997 - Played in four games (Southern Miss, Central Michigan, Kentucky, Arkansas) for 36 plays as a backup at defensive tackle... Also worked some with the tight ends... One tackle on the season... Made first appearance as a Gator in three plays vs. Southern Mississippi... One tackle vs. Central Michigan... 1996 - Did not see any game action and was redshirted... Worked with the scout team at both fullback and defensive tackle... Prep - A two-way line standout who gained recognition on the regional and state level... A first-team All-State (4A) selection in 1995 as an offensive lineman while being ranked among the top 15 defensive line prospects in the Southeast by Bluechips Illustrated ...A two-time selection on the Gainesville Sun All-Area team as a defensive lineman... Played on the offensive line at Santa Fe with fellow UF signee Zac Zedalis... A second-team All-State selection as a junior in '94... Helped lead team to state championship in 1994...
