CAREER: Saw action in 29 games in his career for the Gators...Finished his career as the Southeastern Conference and Florida record-holder for PAT kicks made (78) and attempted (79) in a season, setting those marks in 2008.
2009: Gained an extra year of eligibility and entered the season as the Gators’ field-goal kicker...Made 14-of-16 extra-point attempts and went 0-for-1 on field goals in 2009...Had an extra-point attempt blocked in the fourth quarter against FIU...Was 6-for-6 on extra-point attempts but failed to connect on a 39-yard field goal attempt against Troy...Went 8-of-9 on extra-point attempts in the Gators’ victory over Charleston Southern...Named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll in the fall of 2009.
2008: Was named a semifinalist for the Lou Groza Award for the nation’s best placekicker...Served as the field-goal kicker for the Gators and was 12-for-13 on field goals and 78-for-79 on PATs...His 78 extra points on the season set a single-season school record and is also an SEC record...Third in the SEC in scoring, with 114 total points (12 FG, 78 PAT)...Converted on his only field-goal attempt from 29-yards in the BCS National Championship Game against Oklahoma...Made a 19-yard field-goal attempt in the SEC Championship Game, and his only miss of the season came on a 42-yard attempt in the third quarter...Connected on a 29-yard field goal against Florida State, his first attempt in six games...Went 3-for-3 on field goals versus LSU and at Tennessee, with a long of 40-yards...Attempted and made his first career field goal in the fourth quarter against Miami from 29 yards.
2007: Achieved Academic All-SEC for the second-straight year and has earned academic recognition from the league office three times… Participated in the Gators' 30-24 win at Ole Miss, where he had one kickoff for 64 yards and also missed an extra-point attempt.
2006: Member of the 2006 SEC Fall Academic Honor Roll… Played in three games for the national champion Orange and Blue… Was 5-for-5 on PATs in Florida's 62-0 win over Western Carolina… Dressed but did not see any action in Florida's wins over Kentucky, Alabama, LSU, Vanderbilt, South Carolina, Florida State and Ohio State… Saw action against UCF on the punt and PAT attempts, and also handled three of the six kickoffs… Handled six kickoffs against Southern Miss.
2005: Participated in six games as a freshman as UF's kickoff specialist… Made six kickoffs against Iowa at the Outback Bowl… Handled seven kickoffs versus Florida State… Had five kickoffs versus South Carolina… Made seven kickoffs versus Vanderbilt… Handled three kickoffs versus Georgia… Had his first kickoff against Georgia reach the end zone, which was returned for 25 yards… Made four kickoffs against LSU… The longest went for 61 yards… Handled kickoff duties during the second half versus Mississippi State… Dressed but did not play against Wyoming, Louisiana Tech, Tennessee, Kentucky or Alabama… Named to the 2005 SEC Freshman Academic Honor Roll.
PREP: Converted 18-of-21 field goals inside the 45-yard line during his high school career… Averaged 95 percent on touchbacks… Game-long field goal is 47 yards, while his practice long is recorded at 67 yards… Ranked as the second-best place kicking prospect in the nation by Scout.com… Rivals.com ranked Phillips as the seventh-best place kicking prospect… .Finalist for Lou Groza High School Outstanding Place-Kicker of the Year… High school coach was Gerald McCully.
PERSONAL: Was born on Aug. 29, 1986… His parents are Gary and Cindy Phillips… Enjoys playing the guitar and fishing...Earned a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree at UF before enrolling in law school in the fall of 2009.

PROFILE
· Was admitted to Florida’s Levin School of Law to begin law school in 2009 after earning his degree from Florida in three years and starting graduate classes during the 2008 season
· Was accepted at the University of Miami School of Law in 2008, but decided to stay at Florida, take grad classes and apply for the University of Florida School of Law after the 2008 season.
· Plays the guitar and uses it as a relaxation tool before and after games. Has played guitar for three years and even had a stint with a band for a few months.
· Has always wanted to play for Florida, calling it his dream school since he can remember
