Allen Brown enters his first season with Gators football after being hired in the role of quality control - defensive backs prior to the 2023 season.
He joins Florida after spending the 2022 season at Cal in the role of quality control - defense. There, he worked with three All-Pac 12 defensive backs including safety Daniel Scott, who was selected on the fifth round of the 2023 NFL Draft by the Indianapolis Colts. Brown also mentored Freshman All-American cornerback Jeremiah Earby during his time at Cal.
Brown coached for his alma mater, Eastern Washington University from 2019-2021 as the cornerbacks coach / defensive pass game coordinator. During his time with the Eagles, the program had five all-conference defensive backs and a freshman all-american selection. EWU concluded the 2021 season ranked No. 7 in the country after making it to the second round of the FCS playoffs.
Prior to his return to Cheney, he was the cornerbacks coach at Cal Poly-San Luis Obispo for four seasons (2015-18) after being a defensive intern for Eastern Washington in 2014.
The native of Tacoma, Wash., was a safety for EWU from 2009-13. He played in 51 career games and totaled 237 tackles, 15 pass breakups and four interceptions. Brown was a three-time all-conference selection and was part of the 2010 FCS national championship team. He earned his bachelor’s in business in 2014.
