Overview

  • Scored 127 points in 26 games (4.9 per game) for Florida.
  • Joined UF as a mid-season transfer during 2013-14, sat out the NCAA-mandated season, making his Gator debut on Dec. 20, 2014, vs. Wake Forest.
  • Averaged 1.9 points and 1.0 rebounds in 36 career games with the Blue Devils.
  • An outstanding wing athlete at his best when filling the lane on the break or attacking the offensive glass.
  • Strong basketball IQ with a well-rounded skill set.
  • Has the length, quickness and instincts to be a strong wing defender.
  • Younger brother of Erik Murphy.

 
2015-16, Redshirt Senior Season

  • Suffered a right foot injury in the exhibition game and re-aggravated the injury after two games back, ultimately appearing in three games.

2014-15, Redshirt Junior Season
  • Scored 5.1 points per game, appearing in 23 contests after making his Florida debut on Dec. 20 vs. Wake Forest. Murphy scored nine points and grabbed four rebounds in his debut.
  • Had two double-figure scoring games, including co-leading the team in scoring with 10 points vs. LSU. His season-high 11 points, which included a pair of 3-pointers, came in the Gators’ win vs. Vanderbilt.
  • Made his first career start in his second game as Gator, ultimately recording four starts on the season.

2013-14, Redshirt Sophomore Season (Duke/Florida)

  • Played in five contests for the Blue Devils for a total 33 minutes of action and averaged 1.0 point and 1.0 rebound before making the decision to transfer to Florida.
  • Joined the Gators over the holiday break and participated on the scout team for the rest of the season.

2012-13, Redshirt Freshman Season (Duke)

  • Averaged 2.1 points and 1.0 rebound in 31 games.
  • Shot 49.1 percent (27-of-55) from the field.
  • Scored six consecutive points vs. Virginia Tech when he converted the first three-point play of his career and then hit a 3-pointer.

2011-12, Freshman Season (Duke)

  • Redshirted and did not see game action.
  • Named to the ACC Academic Honor Roll.
  • Played in all three of Duke’s international games versus the Chinese National Team and the exhibition versus United Arab Emirates, averaging 4.3 points per game.
  • Also played in Duke’s exhibition contests versus Bellarmine and Shaw, drawing the start against Bellarmine.

Prep

  • Three-year letterwinner at St. Mark’s.
  • Reclassified from the class of 2012 to bypass his final year of high school basketball and become a member of Duke’s 2011 recruiting class.
  • Transferred back to South Kingstown High School to complete his degree requirements to attend Duke after his junior year.
  • Named Independent School League Player of the Year as a junior after leading St. Marks to a 28-3 overall record,  averaging 21.0 points, 7.2 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game in 2011.
  • Helped lead St. Marks to a NEPSAC Class C Championship as a freshman.
  • Ranked in the top 50 by Scout.com (No. 37), ESPNU 100 (No. 40) and Rivals.com (No. 45).
  • Played for the U-20 Finnish National Team in the 2012 FIBA U-20 World Championships, where he finished as the team’s leading scorer, rebounder and shot blocker with 17.4 points, 6.6 rebounds, 1.4 assists, 1.3 blocks and 1.1 steals per game.
