The Gators led the nation in rebounding margin (+14.7), offensive rebounding (15.9) and rebounding (45.1), and finished second in offensive rebounding percentage (43.3%). The Gators posted a 16-2 SEC record, clearing the field by a three-game margin as Golden earned his first career SEC Coach of the Year honor and was a semifinalist for Naismith Coach of the Year. The 16 SEC wins marked the second-most in program history, behind only UF’s 18 in in 2014.
With the team success came myriad individual honors, as leading scorer Thomas Haugh earned All-American and first-team All-SEC honors. Rueben Chinyelu set program records for double-doubles (19) and offensive rebounds (137) on the way to Naismith and NABC Defensive Player of the Year honors, SEC Defensive Player of the Year, SEC Scholar-Athlete of the Year, All-SEC and SEC All-Defensive Team recognition. Alex Condon also garnered All-SEC honors, and Urban Klavžar was named SEC Sixth-Man of the Year.
In 2024-25, Jacobson was part of the Gators’ national championship staff as UF earned its third all-time national championship, its sixth Final Four appearance and its fifth SEC Tournament title. The championships all came as part of a memorable 12-game win streak to end the season that began March 1. The 12-game run to close the season included nine top-25 wins, a total that eclipsed any full-season total in program history. Eight of the nine ranked wins in that run through March and April were vs. teams in the top 12, and UF finished the season with a program-record 12 top-25 wins.
The Gators’ +15.2 scoring margin for the season led the SEC and was the third-highest in program history, while UF led the nation and set program records in points (3,391), field goals (1,182) and rebounds (1,673), also setting the UF record in 3-point field goals (390). The Gators’ 84.8 points per game were also the second-highest ever at Florida, only behind the 2023-24 mark of 85.6.
As video coordinator in 2023-24, Jacobson helped the Gators return to the NCAA Tournament with a 24-win season in 2023-24. Jacobson originally came to UF as a graduate assistant, working in that role from 2021-23.
The Gators tallied four top-25 wins in 2023-24 and had their highest-scoring team in program history with 85.7 points per game, ranking in the top 10 nationally in scoring offense, rebounds per game, offensive rebounds per game and offensive rebounding percentage.
Florida returned to the SEC Tournament championship game for the first time in 10 years, and three Gators earned All-SEC honors in Walter Clayton Jr., Zyon Pullin and Tyrese Samuel.
Jacobson worked with the Florida men’s basketball program for two seasons while completing his Master’s Degree in Sport Management at UF before taking on the video coordinator role in 2023.
During his first two seasons, Jacobson handled a variety of duties, including assisting with on-campus recruiting, analytics, scouting, equipment, and oversight of the Gators’ undergraduate student managers.
The St. Petersburg native came to UF after graduating from Michigan in 2021 with a degree in Communication & Media, and Entrepreneurship. He worked three years as a student manager in Ann Arbor, the final as a head manager, helping the Wolverines on their way to a Sweet Sixteen appearance in 2019 and an Elite Eight appearance in 2021.
