Making his first start of the season, Payne turned in nine points, nine rebounds and five blocked shots in the Gators’ 26-point rout of sixth-ranked Tennessee.
Added 10 points and nine rebounds in the win at Georgia.

2019-20, Freshman Season

Averaged 3.8 points and 3.7 rebounds in 30 games with seven starts during his freshman campaign.
Posted a double-double in the win vs. No. 4 Auburn with 19 points and 11 rebounds. Payne shot 9-for-9 from the field in the win, joining teammate Andrew Nembhard as the only SEC players since 2000 to shoot 1.000 with nine-plus field goals in a conference game.
Earned his first career start vs. Long Beach State and responded with 11 points and nine boards.
Had nine rebounds in 12 minutes at South Carolina, providing valuable minutes off the bench.
Grabbed nine rebounds in the win vs. Saint Joseph’s.

Prep

Helped Montverde to a 22-3 record and a semifinal appearance in the GEICO Nationals.
Prior to enrolling at Montverde, Payne played at Oscecloa and helped the team to the 2017 Class 9A state championship and a 28-2 record.
Payne had a double-double with 10 points and 10 blocked shots in the 2017 state semifinals.
