National/International Competition
Represented Hungary at the 2009 25th World University Games in Belgrade, Serbia, finishing seventh in the 400-meter free (3:51.18), 12th in the 200 fly (2:00.67), 15th in the 200 free (1:50.68) and 19th in the 800-meter free (8:22.40)… Raced to a 3:54.14, finishing sixth in his heat of the 400-meter free at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, where he represented Hungary … Represented Hungary in the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens ... Placed 12th in the 200 free, fifth in the 400 free and sixth in the 1500 free at the 2004 European Junior Championship division.
At Florida
2010-11: Took 16th in the 200 fly at the NCAA Championships to earn an All-American honor, giving him four for his career, also finished 23rd in the 200 free and 27th in the 500 free… Member of first place and SEC record setting 800-yard free relay, took eighth in the 500 free, 10th in the 200 free and ninth in the 200 butterfly at the SEC Championships… Anchored the first place 400 medley relay and won the 100 free against Indian River State College… Won the 500 free and took second in the 200 fly against Tennessee… Won the 500 free and finished fourth in the 200 free at Auburn… Part of the first place 800 free relay at SMU Classic… Took first in the 400 free relay and second in the 200 free against Georgia Tech… Finished second in the 500 free at the Georgia Tech Invite… Took fourth in the 200 fly in win over Georgia… Won the 200 fly and 400 free relay against Virginia… Won the 200 butterfly and was a member of the first place 800 free relay, finished third in the 500 free and took fourth in the 100 fly at the All Florida Invite.
2009-10: Picked up his third career All-America honor after his seventh-place finish in the 500 free at NCAAs… Finished fourth in the 500 free, fifth in the 500 fly and seventh in the 200 free at the 2010 SEC Championships… Took second in the 500 free vs. Auburn… Part of the third-place 800 free relay squad at the SMU Classic… Finished second in the 200 free vs. LSU… Won the 200 fly vs. Indian River State College… Took second in the 200 fly and third in the 500 free in the rivalry win against Florida State… Finished second in the 500 free in the victory vs. Georgia… Won the 500 free and 1,000 free against Georgia Tech.
2008-09: A 2009 CSCAA Scholar All-American selection… Picked up two second team All-SEC honors at the 2009 league meet, where the Gators finished second… Additionally swam at the 2009 NCAA Championships, reeling in two All-America honors, the first of his career… Took eighth in the 500-yard free (4:23.13), 29th in the 200 free (1:35.67) and 35th in the 200 fly (1:45.16)… Shattered a 25-year-old Florida record in prelims of the 500-yard free at NCAAs (4:14.67)… Was also a member of UF’s ninth place 800-yard free relay at NCAAs… Placed second as a member of the 800 free relay at SECs (6:18.36), while taking second in the 500 free (4:14.99), fifth in the 200 fly (1:43.51 ) and 12th in the 200 free (1:35.81)… Competed in a total of 11 meets for the Gators his second season on campus… Highlight of the 2008-09 season was a second-place finish in the 500 free (1:38.00) at the 2009 Dallas Morning News Classic, where the Gators took second as a team… Also swam a season-fast 100 free when the Gators visited LSU in Baton Rouge (47.07), placing fourth and also taking the top spot in the 200 free against the Tigers.
2007-08: Did not see action in the pool for the Gators during the 2007-08 season.

Born Balazs Gercsak on October 14, 1986… Son of Imre and Papp Eva Gercsak … Is the oldest of six siblings … Brother Csaba is a swimmer for Southern Illinois… Chose UF for it’s excellent swimming team, good weather and studies … List his hobbies as reading, watching movies, bicycling and using the computer … Majoring in digital media.
