Annie Lazor enters her second season as Assistant Coach for the Gators, working primarily with the women’s team.Â
In first season with the Gators, Lazor was part of developing 12 All-Americans at the women’s NCAA Championships in Athens, Ga. The women concluded their historic season run with a third-place finish at NCAA’s to mark the programs best finish in 14 years. Additionally, she helped coach 13 SEC Champions en route to the women’s second-consecutive SEC Title, 19th in program history. Additionally, the women’s team set 13 School Records and 43 Program Top-10 times during the 2024 season.
Including her Olympic medal in Tokyo, Lazor won six international medals throughout her professional swimming career, including three golds during the 2019 Pan American championships. A breaststroke specialist, she is one of the top performers all-time in the women’s 200 Breast SCM with a 2:16.33, a top-10 ever recorded time.
Prior to Florida, Lazor swam professionally for US Olympic Team, USA Swimming, Indiana University and Indiana Swim Club from 2017-2023. A 2020 Olympic bronze medalist, Lazor won six international medals during her professional swimming career. This includes three golds during the 2019 Pan American championships. A breaststroke specialist, she is one of the top performers all-time in the women’s 200 Breast SCM with a 2:16.33, a top-10 ever recorded time.
A five-time Olympic Trials finalist (2012 high school, 2016 at Auburn, 2021 as pro at Indiana), she was the 2021 Olympic Trials Champion in the 200 breast as well as placing third in the 100 breast. Lazor is an eight-time USA Swimming National Team member (2015-2017, 2018-2024) and is a 2022 USA Swimming World Championship team member in 100 and 200 breast as well as a 2018 SC World champion in the 200 breaststroke.

Lazor, who swam for Auburn from 2013-2016 and earned SEC honor roll in 2016, was a four-time All-American in the 100 and 200 Breast and 4x100 Medley Relay. She served as team captain her last two seasons, and earned an SEC bronze medal in the 100 and 200 breast in 2016. Lazor was not only a four-time SEC Finalist but also Team MVP in her 2014-15 and 2015-16 seasons.
Lazor retired from the sport after missing the 2016 Rio Olympics. After graduating from Auburn in 2016, she worked at Cal Berkeley in Olympic sports operations. She specifically worked with Men’s and Women’s Swimming and diving and Women’s beach volleyball.
After being in retirement for a year, she came back to the sport in 2017. During this time, she was the head age group coach for Team Pittsburgh Aquatics from 2017-2018.
