Kendyl Lindaman will serve as the program’s Student Assistant Coach for the upcoming 2022 season. Lindaman, a three-time NFCA All-American, begins her new role with the Gators following her final season in 2021 as a standout first baseman with the Gators.
In her new role, Lindaman will utilize her unique set of skills, abilities and leadership intangibles to assist head coach Tim Walton, along with assistant coaches Aric Thomas and Mike Bosch with training the Gators’ catchers and offensively at the plate.
Lindaman finished her career ranked among active NCAA Career Leaders in games played (268 – t- 2nd), RBI (244- 4th), home runs (70th – 5th) and walks (215 - 2nd).
The Ankeny, Iowa native’s successful career as a Gator landed her in record books in numerous categories, which includes the third longest hit-streak in program history by a senior and 5th place in on-base percentage with a .471 average throughout her UF career. She is also 8th all time in program history for UF in batting average (.341), slugging percentage (.606), and fielding percentage (.994).
Lindaman spent her freshman and sophomore year of her collegiate career at Minnesota before transferring to Florida her junior year. She started every game in her freshman and sophomore year as a catcher and, as a freshman, she broke the single-season program records for home runs (20), slugging percentage (.899), RBI (tied -76), walks (63), and on base percentage (.598).
As a sophomore at Minnesota in 2018, the right-handed slugger hit .512 in conference play with a 1.279 slugging %. She was ranked 8th in the NCAA and first in the Big Ten with 20 home-runs. She was ranked 5th in the NCAA and first in the Big Ten with 0.95 walker per game.
During her junior year in 2019, Lindaman’s first season with the Gators she played in all 67 games for the Gators at either catcher or the designated player. Her .330 average ranked second on the team only behind Amanda’s Lorenz’s .422 average. She registered her first grand slam as a Gator when she put the team ahead 6-0 in the 4th inning against Syracuse. Her second grand slam of the season came against No.9 LSU and she gave the Gators a 4-1 lead in the top of the 7th inning.
Lindaman posted career highs throughout 2019 including: At Bats: 7 at Ole miss (3/2), Runs: 3 vs. Mercer (3/24), Hits: 3 vs. No.14/22 Arkansas (4/6), RBI: 6 vs. Mercer (3/23), Triples: 1 vs. No.19/14 Michigan (2/9), Home Runs: 2 vs. Mercer (3/23), Putouts: 15 at USF (2/10).
Her 2020 senior campaign ended after just 27 games played due to COVID-19. Lindaman did play and start in all 27 games for the Gators at first base. She hit for (.410) going 32-of-78 at the plate with 22 RBI, 17 runs, four doubles, and seven home runs. She reached bases safely in all 27 games, played and produced a 15-game and 10-game hit streak. The 15-game streak is the sixth longest in program history regardless of class.
Lindaman returned for a fifth-year graduate student in 2021 pursuing her Master’s in Sport Management and using her extra year of eligibility. She reached base safely in 53 of the 56 games played in the 2021 season with a season long 26-game streak.
Lindaman finished the year on an either-game hit streak and tallied 10 multi-hit games along with 12 multi RBI games. She concluded her career as a Gator ranking inside the top 10 all-time in batting average (.341 - 8th), slugging percentage (.606 - 8th), on base percentage (.471 - t-5th) and fielding percentage (.994 - 8th).
