  • Notables:
    • Played in 21 games and started in 11 for the Gators where she batted .229 going 8-for-35 at the plate with eight runs scored, five RBI, one double and eight walks.
    • Gave the Gators a 2-1 lead in the 6th inning against No. 16 Arizona State (2/22) when she scored the go ahead run thanks to Hannah Adams RBI single up the middle. Matthews reached on an infield single.
    • Scored the first run of the season for the Gators and tied the game 1-1 in the bottom of the 2nd inning against Illinois State (2/7) on Hannah Adams bases load hit-by-pitch. Led off the inning and started the four-run rally with her single through the left side.
    • Drew a bases loaded RBI walk to give UF a 5-3 lead in the 4th inning against Fresno State (2/8) in the USF-Rawlings Invitational.


As a Sophomore (2019):
  • Statistics:
    • Played in 58 games for the Gators and registered 38 starts, primarily at first base.
    • Registered a .182 batting average after going 20-for-110 at the plate with 14 runs scored and 14 RBI.
      • Hit two home runs, a triple and two doubles while also drawing 19 walks.
 
  • Notables:
    • Posted the game-ending RBI single to center field in the bottom of the 5th inning of Gators 8-0 (5) victory over No. 14/22 Arkansas (4/6).
    • Registered the game-winning RBI in three of the Gators victories including UF’s SEC Tournament opening round come-from-behind victory against No. 20/23 South Carolina (5/8).
      • Matthews blasted a two-RBI double off the wall in left field to score both Sophia Reynoso and Hannah Adams in the bottom of the 7th inning to give the Gators the 6-5 win.
    • Scored the game-winning run four times.

    • Appeared in 62 games with 62 starts split between right field and as the designated hitter.
    • Accounted for eight multi-hit games, 12 multi-RBI games, a five game hitting streak and an 11 game reached base safely streak.
    • Went 43-for-157 (.274) with 45 RBI, 26 runs scored, eight doubles, five home runs and a triple, while she also drew 29 walks and a pair of stolen bases.

    • Hit a walk-off three-run home run in Game 3 against Texas A&M (5/26) to send Florida to the Women's College World Series.

    • Registered 10 RBI opening weekend of the 2018 season and hit two home runs.
    • Went 1-for-5 at the Women’s College World Series with a double, a pair of RBI and a run scored.
