University of Florida, Assistant Coach – Second Year (April 2020 – present)
  • Completed second season on staff in 2021-22
  • Helped develop Alberte Rimdal into an SEC All-Freshman team recipient and key reserve
  • Rimdal shot 38.9% from deep in SEC play and became the first freshman in UF history to record back-to-back games with five triples made
  • Throughout her freshman season, Rimdal scored in double figures five times, including a season-best 17 at Alabama
  • During his second season, Assibey assisted in getting the Gators back to the NCAA tournament for the first time since 2016
  • Officially announced as assistant coach on April 27, 2020
  • In first season on staff Assibey helped guide the Gators to their first postseason berth since 2016 and first postseason victory since 2014
  • He played a key role in the continued development of Florida’s dynamic backcourt of Kiki Smith and Lavender Briggs
  • Smith became the first player in program history to lead her team in scoring, rebounding and assists for a single season and Briggs, after averaging 19.4 points per game, was tabbed All-SEC Second Team
  • Freshman Jordyn Merritt put together one of the best rookie campaigns in the SEC and was recognized by the league as an All-SEC Freshman Team selection
  • Assibey helped sophomore Nina Rickards enjoy a strong second year with the Gators as the New York native compiled eight double-figure scoring efforts, four double-digit rebounding games and two double-doubles in 24 games played
  • Under Assibey’s watch, the Gators put together their best non-conference season (7-1) in five years
  • Assibey helped the Gators secure another strong recruiting class as Taliyah and Tatyana Wyche, Jeriah Warren and Alberte Rimdal all made the pledge for the 2021 cohort
Montana State University, Assistant Coach – 4 Years (2016-2020)
  • Spent four seasons with Montana State, helping elevate the program to new heights
  • Helped guided the Bobcats to an 82-43 overall record, two Big Sky regular season titles and one conference tournament crown
  • The staff’s recruiting coordinator, Assibey assisted in the development of two Big Sky Players of the Year and a total of nine all-conference honorees
  • Each year on staff, Assibey saw at least two players garner all-conference accolades
  • In 2019-20, Montana State posted a 25-6 record and one of the greatest campaigns in program history
  • Montana State was scheduled to compete in the Big Sky Tournament's finale before the event was canceled due to novel coronavirus (COVID-19) concerns
  • With Assibey on staff, the Bobcats recorded a Big Sky record 19 conference wins and in those victories won by an average margin of 18 points during his final season with the program
  • Under his tutelage, forward Fallyn Freije was named the Big Sky Conference Player of the Year after averaging 13.7 points and 7.7 rebounds
  • In 2016-17, Assibey's first year on campus, Montana State enjoyed another banner season winning both the Big Sky regular season and tournament titles
  • The Bobcats again touted the league's finest individual talent as Peyton Ferris collected Big Sky Player of the Year honors
Colorado University, Assistant Coach – 2 Years (2014-16)
  • Spent two seasons in Boulder; one as an assistant coach and the season prior as a video coordinator
  • Assisted in multiple facets of the program and in 2015-16 saw post-player Jamee Swan register her second straight All-Pac 12 Honorable Mention award
  • As a video coordinator, specialized in game film breakdown and scout preparation
  • After just one season in a video role, Assibey was elevated to an assistant role
  • As assistant, Assibey made significant contributions to the team’s defensive game plan and recruiting operation
 
Merrimack College, Assistant Coach – 4 Years (2011-14)
  • Prior to his appointment at Colorado, the California native spent four seasons (2011-14) as an assistant coach at Merrimack College in Andover, Mass.
  • Spearheaded the team's recruiting operation and assisted with the team's academics and budget
  • He helped spur a 12-win turnaround from 2011-12 to 2012-13 season
Western Colorado University, Assistant Coach – 1 Year (2009-10)
  • Coached one season with the Mountaineers in Gunnison, Colorado
William Penn University, Assistant Coach – 1 Year (2009-10)
  • Spent one season on staff with his alma mater in Oskaloosa, Iowa
Metro State College of Denver, Assistant Coach – 2 Years (2007-09)
  • Helped the Roadrunners to a third place Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference finish in 2007-08 and a fifth place showing in 2008-09.
