Daniel Boice enters his third season at Florida in 2025-26 after joining Kelly Rae Finley's in the summer of 2023. He helped lead Florida to the postseason in each of his first two years in Gainesville, playing in the WBIT in 2024 and 2025..
In 2025, the Gators upended No. 20 Alabama on their way to a berth in the SEC Quarterfinals, and went on to win their first three games in the WBIT before falling to Minnesota in the semis. In 2026, Florida posted its fifth consecutive winning season, knocking off No. 19/20 Ole Miss in the process.
During his time in Gainesville, Boice assisted in the development of a trio of McDonald's All-American's in Liv McGill, Me'Arah O'Neal and Laila Reynolds. McGill was a preseason All-SEC Second Team selection in 2025-26, and was named to the Nancy Lieberman Point Guard of the Year Award Midseason Watch List. McGill and O'Neal also each earned SEC Player of the Week honors in 2025-26.
Boice started at Florida as the Director of Player Development, after spending time at Kentucky developing the 2021 No. 1 draft pick, Rhyne Howard. Boice played a key role in Howard’s success, leading to an SEC Championship in 2021, and the SEC Tournament MVP award for Howard. Howard would later join the Gators coaching staff for two seasons thanks to her relationship with Boice.
Bringing over a decade of experience in the collegiate basketball space, Boice was elevated to Assistant Coach in May of 2023, following his first season at Florida. Prior to joining the Gators, Boice spent seven seasons at the University of Kentucky as their Director of Player Development and was also appointed interim assistant coach during the 2020-21 season.
During his time with the Wildcats, Boice helped Kentucky reach the NCAA tournament four times, which included three second-round berths, and won the SEC Tournament during the 2021-22 campaign.
Boice’s first three years in Kentucky had a strong focus on opponent scouting and coordinating, which attributes to his diverse skill set in video analysis. His expertise in video coordination and analysis strings all the way back to his time with Arizona.
Prior to Kentucky, Boice was the coaching video coordinator at Arizona, where he was an undergraduate student manager for three years before being promoted to video coordinator for two seasons.
He graduated from the University of Arizona with a Bachelor’s degree in Education, and later received his Master’s degree in Educational Leadership.
Boice played basketball for Dordt College in Sioux Center, Iowa for one season before transitioning to a student assistant coach. As a student assistant he coordinated summer and team camps as well as recruiting. Boice also implemented player development workouts for the team including five players who were named to NAIA All-Conference teams.
