McGrew has been with the Athletic Association in a full-time capacity since being hired in June 2005. He worked one season as an intern, and was hired on the following year as a full time assistant working directly with the Gators Football team. In March of 2013, he took over the head equipment position for the Gators football team. His main responsibilities center around the ordering and accounting for Florida Football Equipment, as well as game day and all travel game equipment operations. McGrew was a student manager with the Gators Football team from 2002-05 while he was enrolled in school at the University of Florida.

McGrew, a native of Melbourne, Fla., earned his B.S. degree in Exercise and Sport Science from the University of Florida in 2005, and plans to return to school to work on a Master's Degree.
