The second UF goal scored in the first half was by Renee Vinnedge with a 10 yarder from the right side of the goal box at 37:26. Florida scored their third goal with only 20 seconds remaining in the first half when Sarah Yohe who netted a 19 yarder from the left outside corner of the penalty box.
Erin Baxter opened up the Gator scoring drive in the second half at 48:16 with an unassisted goal as she shot a six yarder after it was deflected by the goalkeeper. Sophomore Jessica Fraser and seniors Marci Stark and Danielle Wren each scored their first goals of the season in the second half. The Gators got on the scoreboard one last time with less than two minutes remaining in the match when freshman Karah Smith scored her first collegiate goal on a seven yarder after receiving the assist from Katie Tullis.
"It was a good chance for everyone to get to play," said Florida head coach Becky Burleigh. "We felt like we came out a lot better in the second half as far as playing as we wanted to play. We didn't want to beat this team with physical speed or size, we just wanted to beat them tactically and we felt like we did that in the second half," she added.
