The match was played at Percy Beard Stadium with an attendance of 2,109, making it the third consecutive home match in which the Gators drew over 2,000 in attendance.
The match began with a scoreless first half in which Florida had seven shots on goal compared to Kentucky's three. The first goal of the match was scored in the second half at 82:24 when junior All-American Danielle Fotopoulos drove the ball on a solo breakaway from midfield and passed the ball to an open Sarah Yohe who stood just inside right of the penalty box for the score.
