Baseball Ranked 14th in Baseball Weekly/ESPN Poll

The University of Florida baseball team will begin its 2001 season ranked 14th nationally in the Baseball Weekly/ESPN preseason poll announced Monday. The Baseball Weekly/ESPN coaches poll is voted upon by 41 of the nation's college baseball coaches representing the American Baseball Coaches Association.
The Baseball Weekly/ESPN coaches poll is the last of three preseason college baseball polls to be announced. Florida was ranked No. 13 by both Baseball America and Collegiate Baseball.
Florida was the third-highest and one of seven Southeastern Conference schools ranked among the poll's top-25. LSU was ranked No. 2, followed by South Carolina at No. 10, Florida (14), Auburn (15), Mississippi State (17), Georgia (18) and Alabama (23). The SEC's seven ranked teams were the most of any conference.
Florida begins its season Saturday, February 3 as it hosts No. 8 Miami at McKethan Stadium at 1 p.m. The game will be televised live on Sunshine Network.
