The Cardinal took two quick doubles matches, clinching the point at No. 3. In singles, Stanford won at No.1, 5, and 6 to claim the match with the decisive win posted by Alex Kim at No. 1 over junior Olivier Levant (Paris, France), 6-3, 6-1. UF senior Nathan Overholser (Okemos, Mich.) did not play in singles due to an arm injury. When play was suspended the Cardinal led the No. 3 and No. 4 matches with UF's Jeremy Wurtzman (Rochester, NY) up 1-0 in the third set of his match at No. 2 against K.J. Hippensteel.
The Gators will face No. 19 Washington on Saturday night at 11 pm ET in consolation play.
