The fifth-ranked University of Florida women's tennis team bounced back from its first loss of the season with an impressive 6-1 victory Saturday afternoon against No. 8 Texas.
The Gators improved to 14-1 overall this season, while the Longhorns had their five-match winning streak snapped and fell to 13-3.
The Gators lost the doubles point for the first time this season, but regrouped to sweep the singles and capture the win.
"We lost the doubles point playing extremely tentative doubles," UF head coach Andy Brandi said. "We came out smoking in singles, though, and didn't drop a set."
Florida returns to action on Friday, April 6, when the Gators play host to Miami at Ring Tennis Complex. The match is scheduled to begin a 4:00 p.m.
