Senior Men's Golfer Named Academic All-America

University of Florida senior men's golfer Nick Gilliam (Gainesville, Fla./Gainesville) was named to the first team Verizon Academic All-America District III team by CoSIDA Tuesday afternoon.
Gilliam, a three-time Southeastern Conference Honor Roll student, is just the second Gator men's golfer to earn the award. The decision and information sciences and management major is tied for the team lead with eight Top 20 finishes this year. Most recently, Gilliam tied for 17th at the NCAA East Regional May 17-19 with a three-round total of 211 (-5).
The Gators will look to capture their fourth NCAA Title as the No. 8 Seed at the Championships at Duke University Golf Course in Durham, N.C., May 30-June 2. UF qualified after finishing third at the NCAA East Regional in Williamsburg, Va.
