Women's Golf Finishes Third At Liz Murphey Classic

The No. 8 University of Florida women's golf team finished tied for third place with a three-round score of 891 (295-293-303)at the 31st annual Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic at the University of Georgia Golf Course in Athens, Ga.
Top-ranked Duke shot an even par 288 to win the tournament with a score of 876 (295-293-288) after being tied for the lead with the Lady Gators after the first and second rounds. The Blue Devil's Elizabeth Janangelo was the tournament medallist after shooting six-under-par 210 (72-69-69) during the tournament.
Senior Brittany Straza (Ft. Myers, Fla.) was the highest finisher for Florida as she tied for 12th place with a three round six-over-par 222 (76-70-76). Fellow senior Jeanne Cho (Bradenton, Fla.) tied for 17th place with a score of 223 (72-74-77). Freshman Aimee Cho (Orlando, Fla.) finished in 22nd place with an eight-over-par 224 (74-72-78) and junior Amanda Dick (Clearwater, Fla.) tied for 25th place with a score of 225 (73-77-75).
After shooting 77 in the first and second rounds, sophomore Andrea Vander Lende (Longwood, Fla.) came back in Sunday's third round to shoot a three-over-par 75 to finish the tournament tied for 38th place with a score of 229 (77-77-75). Freshman Tarah McNaughton (Bradenton, Fla.) played as an individual for Florida, finishing tied for 89th place with a score of 250 (83-83-84).
The Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic was the last regular season tournament for Florida, as they will begin post season play in Lexington, Ky. at the SEC Championships April 18-20.
