Gator Men's Hoops Picks Up Huge Win At Vanderbilt, 82-65

Junior guard Anthony Roberson had his second straight 30-point effort, scoring 30 points, including 6-of-10 from 3-point range, as the Florida Gators Vanderbilt 82-65 Saturday for its third straight victory.
The Gators (11-3, 3-0 Southeastern Conference) now have won eight of their last nine games against Vanderbilt (11-6, 2-2).
The game featured the SEC's best shooting team in Florida and the league's best 3-point shooters in the Commodores, but the Gators dominated. They out-rebounded Vanderbilt 45-25 outscored the Commodores 30-20 inside. In fact, the combination of David Lee and Al Horford out-rebounded the Commodores 28-25, as Lee had a career-high 17 boards and Horford was just off his career-best with 11.
Lee added 11 points for Florida, and Lee Humphrey had 10.
Vanderbilt led only once - at 3-0 in the opening minute. Florida put the game away in the first half after Vanderbilt tied the score at 24 by finishing the half with a 19-3 run over the final six minutes for a 43-27 lead. The Gators led by as much as 64-39 midway through the second half when Lee hit a free throw.
The Commodores kept picking away but never got closer than 74-62 on Foster's third 3-pointer of the half.
Over his last three games against Vanderbilt, Roberson is averaging 30.0 points per game, having scored 25 in Gainesville last February, a career-high 35 in the SEC Tournament last year and then 30 this afternoon.
Florida is 3-0 to start league play for the third time in four years.
Florida returns to action on Wednesday night at home against Tennessee, the first of three consecutive games at the O'Connell Center for the Gators.
