VB's Hampton Fares Well In USA Volleyball Loss To Poland

University of Florida outside hitter Marcie Hampton (Gainesville, Florida) tallied six points, but it wasn't enough to help the USA Women's National Volleyball Team as the squad dropped to 0-2 in pool play at the Montreux Volley Masters following a 3-0 loss to Poland on Thursday.
Tayyiba Haneef scored a match-high 17 points on 15 kills, one block and one ace as Team USA's “Montreux” team, guided by three-time Olympian Paula Weishoff, fell to 1-2 overall this season. Hampton notched her six points on four kills, one block and one ace.
Aleksandra Przybysz scored a team-high 15 points on 14 kills and one service ace to lead Poland to the 25-22, 25-16, 25-18 victory.
Another team of USA women, led by Team USA head coach “Jenny” Lang Ping, begins play at the Pan American Cup in the Dominican Republic on Friday, June 10. Gators Jane Collymore (Englewood, Colo.) and Angie McGinnis (Fraser, Mich.) will play for that team.
In their first Montreux match on Tuesday, June 7, the United States lost to China, 3-0 (25-19, 25-20, 25-17).
