Volleyball's Hampton To Travel To Pan American Cup With U.S. National Team

University of Florida senior outside hitter Marcie Hampton (Gainesville, Fla.) will travel to Colima, Mexico, with the U.S. National Team when the squad opens its 2007 season at the Pan American Cup. The competition will run from June 21-29 at the Polideportivo Universitario de Villa de Alvarez.
Hampton and the U.S. team will face Argentina on June 21 in the opening round of Pool A competition, followed by a second-round match against Costa Rica on June 22. The Americans will wrap up pool play from June 23-25 with contests against the Dominican Republic, Trinidad & Tobago and host-country Mexico, respectively.
Based on the final standings of the Pan American Cup, the top three teams from the North, Central and Caribbean Volleyball Federation (NORCECA) and the top squad from the South American Confederation (CSV) will qualify for the 2008 FIVB World Grand Prix.
