Former Gator McGinnis To Graduate Saturday

Former Florida All-America setter Angie McGinnis (Fraser, Mich.) on Saturday will be one of 32 University of Florida student-athletes to earn their degrees at commencement ceremonies being held this weekend at the Stephen C. O'Connell Center.
McGinnis will graduate with honors with a bachelor's degree in elementary education. She was a four-time member of the Southeastern Conference Academic Honor Roll and a 2007 ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-District III selection.
McGinnis capped one of the most impressive careers in Florida volleyball history in December, 2007. She became just the fourth player in school history to be named an American Volleyball Coaches Association All-American three times. McGinnis was a two-time SEC Player of the Year, making her only the fifth player in conference history to be named the league's Player of the Year on multiple occasions.
McGinnis completed her collegiate career at Florida as the school's career leader in assists with 5,784 dishes. She set the single-season school record in assists per game with 13.88, which ranked sixth in the nation. McGinnis became the first player in school history to collect both 1,000 digs and 300 blocks in her career, as well as the first setter to reach either of those milestones.
McGinnis reached 4,000 assists faster than any player in school history and played in 449 career games, more than any other player in the rally-scoring era. She owns nearly 40 career, season and match records at UF.
