GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Florida's Lily Hayes is back in the Red, White and Blue, earning a spot on the 2026 U.S. Women's U21 National Team, USA Volleyball announced Monday.
Fourteen athletes will ultimately be chosen to compete at the 2026 NORCECA Women's U21 Pan American Cup. Training is scheduled for June 26–July 5 in Columbus, Ohio, ahead of the competition, which will take place July 7–12 at the Covelli Center on the Ohio State University campus.
The U21 Pan Am Cup will be played in front of a home crowd at the Covelli Center on the Ohio State campus. Tickets for the event are now on sale.
The rising sophomore was a member of the 2025 U19 USA Team roster that earned silver at the FIVB Girls U19 World Championships in Osijek, Croatia. Hayes recorded 14 digs in the gold medal match against Bulgaria, averaging 12.00 digs per match and totaling 108 digs across nine matches played.
She brings additional USA Volleyball experience, having been part of the USAV National Team Development Program and was one of 62 NCAA Division I student-athletes selected for the U.S. Women's National Team Collegiate Training in Colorado Springs this past February.
A native of Tampa, Fla., Hayes saw action in all 28 matches and 108 sets as a freshman. She became the first true freshman to open a season in the libero jersey since Elyse Cusack in 2006 and went on to record 391 digs, the fourth-most by a freshman in program history. Hayes led Florida in digs 19 times and reached double figures defensively in 22 matches, including four performances with 20 or more digs.
