Florida’s win streak sits at eight after the win over the Sooners.

NORMAN, Okla. – No. 8 Florida volleyball opened Southeastern Conference play with a sweep of Oklahoma, 3-0 (25-21, 25-22, 25-19), inside McCasland Field House, extending their win streak to eight.

The Gators (10-1, 1-0 SEC) turned in their second-best offensive effort of the season, posting 48 kills on a .406 hitting percentage. Kamryn Chaney's 15 kills paced Florida, while Alec Rothe and Logan King added 12 and 11, respectively. Taylor Parks ran the offense with 35 assists and three kills, helping UF finish with 46 assists as a team. The Gators out-hit Oklahoma (7-3, 0-1 SEC) in kills (48-35), assists (46-32) and hitting efficiency (.406-.174).

Defensively, the Orange & Blue registered eight total team blocks, led by six from King and five from Rothe. Lily Hayes anchored the back row with 12 digs, while Parks and Bella Lee added nine and eight, respectively. The Sooners recorded 36 digs and two team blocks, both well under UF's 45 and eight.

Alaleh Tolliver led the Sooners with nine kills and three digs, while Tekoa Barnes added six kills and 12 digs.

Set One - UF 25, Oklahoma 21

Neither team was able to gain an edge of more than two points through the majority of the opening frame. Florida took its first three-point lead of the match following Chaney and Rothe kills to give the Gators a 20-17 advantage.
Consecutive blocks from King and Rothe put the Orange & Blue in front, 23-18, en route to the 25-21 set victory.
The first set featured 14 ties and seven lead changes before UF pulled away.
Rothe and Chaney combined for nine of Florida's 15 kills at five and four, respectively, while the Gators hit .481.
Florida tallied five total team blocks, led by four from King, helping hold Oklahoma to a .111 hitting percentage.

Set Two - UF 25, Oklahoma 22

Facing a 13-9 deficit, the Gators rattled off four straight points to even the match before taking the lead going into the media timeout, 15-14, off a King kill.
The Sooners evened the set late at 19-19, but an OU attack error and two kills from Chaney put the Gators in front, 22-19.
After Oklahoma responded by closing the gap to one, Chaney slammed the door on the comeback attempt with her 10th kill, helping UF to a 25-22 set-two win.
Lee led the defensive effort with six digs, while Florida recorded 19 as a team.
Chaney's six kills paced the offense, while Parks assisted on 13 of UF's 15 kills.

Set Three - UF 25, Oklahoma 19

With the score knotted at seven, a pair of Chaney kills and a Rothe kill opened up a 10-7 edge for UF.
A 3-0 spurt pushed the Florida lead to five at 14-9, capped by Chaney's first service ace of the season.
The Florida lead swelled to as many as eight on four occasions, the latest at 24-16 off of another Chaney kill.
Rothe put the match away off a perfect ball from Parks, giving the Gators the 25-19 set and match win.
Offense stole the show in the final frame, as the Orange & Blue posted 18 kills with a .531 hitting efficiency.
Rothe tallied six kills, and Chaney five, for 11 of UF's kills in the period.
Hayes recorded five digs, while the Gators ended with 18 in the third.

"In the first two sets we handicapped ourselves, we five missed serves in each. I get that we're on the road, but we're not going to be able to do that. The offense saved the day, we had great sideout, really good efficiency, a little slower in the second but really like the offense based on not serving it well. Then in the third, they switched their lineup a little and tried some shifting. I think by then we were settled in with better feel for serving and got them out of system more and more."
