Details of the University of Florida volleyball team's spring play date with in-state foe Miami on March 29 were released Monday afternoon.
Competition will be held at the Hecht Athletic Center beginning at 9 a.m. ET on Saturday, with the Gators and Hurricanes squaring off for three 25-point sets in the first session. The teams will take a short break following the completion of the opening phase, and will meet again in the late morning for another three-set contest. The action is scheduled to be completed by 1 p.m. ET.
UF opened its spring on March 1 with a home victory over Florida State, downing the Seminoles in a pair of three-set matches at the Lemerand Center. Rising redshirt freshman Kristy Jaeckel (Littleton, Colo.) paced the Gator offense with 24 kills on the day, while the Orange and Blue chalked up 16 total blocks over the course of the day, including 10 in the afternoon session.
UF's final home date of the spring season will be the inaugural SEC Coaches Beach Volleyball Championships on April 12. The all-day event, which is free and open to the public, will be the first beach volleyball tournament ever hosted by a Division I conference. The action will commence with pool play at 8:30 a.m. ET, with the medal matches slated to begin at 4 p.m. ET.
