Cross Country Set to Run at FSU

Eleven members of the University of Florida's men's and women's cross country teams head to Tallahassee, Fla., to run in the FSU Invitational on Saturday morning. The men's 8K is slated to begin at 7:50 a.m. while the women's 5K will start at 8:30 a.m.
Six women are racing in the event, led by junior Ali Crabb (St. Petersburg, Fla.) and redshirt junior Alison Babb (Gainesville, Fla.). Crabb earned All-SEC and All-South Region honors in 2008, while Babb set UF's sixth-best NCAA Championship time (21:36.6) in 2007. Freshmen Callie Cooper (St. Augustine, Fla.), Sydney Devore (Lakeland, Fla.), Mandy Perkins (Ormond Beach, Fla.) and Erica Taltos (Lake Mary, Fla.) will also take park in the Seminole's meet. The women's team is currently ranked ninth in the nation.
The men will be led by sophomores Geoffrey Anderson (Williston, Fla.) and Michael Anderson (Williston, Fla.). Michael earned All-SEC Freshman honors at last year's conference championship meet and has run in both meets for the Gators this season. Geoffrey will be competing for the first time this season. Freshman John Mitchell (Valrico, Fla.), sophomore Alex Wills (Orlando, Fla.) and senior Carlos Phillips (Winter Park, Fla.) will also be hitting the course.
The other ranked teams competing is No. 11 Florida State on the women's side and No. 28 FSU on the men's.
