University of Florida junior Charlotte Browning (Pulborough, England) was named to Great Britain national team and will run in the Under-23 European Cross Country Championships on Dec. 13 in Dublin, Ireland.
The All-American was chosen as one of the six members to represent her homeland based on her performance at the NCAA Championship on Nov. 23, where she helped the Gators to a seventh-place finish as she was the second UF runner to cross the finish line in 21st place. The top-10 finish was the best in school history as Browning and teammate Rebecca Lowe (Vaucluse, Australia) earned the program's first All-America honors in 14 years.
“It is really exciting to be selected to represent my country,” Browning said. “I hope I can give a strong performance and help the Great Britain team. It's an honor and I am grateful they chose me based on my national championship performance, because I was unable to race in the trails back in the UK.”
“I am really looking forward to the mud,” She added with a smile.
